The Ravitch Fiscal Reporting Program will hold a two-day working conference for editors on the growing fiscal crisis affecting state and local governments–designed to improve editors’ expertise and show how outlets can produce high-impact stories.

The program will begin on Thursday March 31 at 3:30 p.m. and conclude on Friday April by 5:00 p.m.

The Ravitch Program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York pays all expenses including travel to New York, local transportation, hotel and food. The event will be held at the J School’s home in New York’s Times Square

Interested editors can apply by emailing Ravitch Program Director Greg David at greg.david@journalism.cuny.edu with information on their current responsibilities and reason for attending.

The highlights of the program include Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, who will keynote the Thursday session with a discussion of the fiscal issues he has faced and presentations by five reporters who will discuss their impressive work on fiscal issues.
